David Tsui obtained a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management and received the doctoral degree in Cultural and Creative Industry Management, The Graduate School of Chinese National Academy of Arts. David possesses working experience from commercial sectors including financial management, human resources management, marketing management, property management and academic development. From 2001 David started working for cultural and creative organizations in both Hong Kong and Mainland China, specializing in company management and corporate governance. He was the Finance and Administration Manager of the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre Ltd., the Director of Administration of the Cheung Kong School of Art & Design of Shantou University and later changed to the position as Associate Professor, Vice Head of Design Philosophy Department, and Leader of the Creative Industry Planning and Management Major of the School. In 2014, David joined the Hong Kong Dance Company as Executive Director. David has recently join the M+ Museum as Deputy Director, Museum Operations.
David is committed to promote cultural and creative industry education. He teaches Cultural and Creative Industry courses in The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong and Xinghai Conservatory of Music. His major research areas focus on commercial operations best practices benchmarking cultural and creative industries. David is now the treasurer of the Hong Kong Dance Alliance, and examiner of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
