Recap on Arty Hour@HKAAA (Mar 2015) - Overseas Arts Management Experience

The second Arty Hour@HKAAA was held successfully at Boom on 17 March 2015. We were delighted to have more than 20 friends in the arts sector joining us to learning more about the arts management and administration practices in different parts of the world.

With the theme “Overseas Arts Management Experience”, we have invited the 6 fellows of the Fellowships for Arts Management Experience (FAME) Programme to share on their internship experience in renowned arts organizations in Australia, Poland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

1: Ms Evelyn Yip (Manager (Music) 1, Leisure and Cultural Services Department)
Internship Organization: Sydney Theatre Company (Australia)

Evelyn shares that Sydney Theatre Company (STC) makes use of the sophisticated customer relation management system called Tessitura, which facilitates market validation by recoding audience’s information including purchase history and donations. Corporate partnership is an important source of income for STC, and Evelyn finds the tailored programmes STC prepares for its major sponsors interesting, for example, Audi Night with the Actors is a post-show Q and A session between the audience and the cast, held once for every production of STC. Evelyn is also impressed by STC’s dedicated efforts in designing education programmes tailor-made for students of different age groups, such as School Day and the new scheme Young Wharfies.
