Co-curated by [link_to|http://www.hkaaa.org.hk/doc/2508|Mr Paul Tam] and [link_to|http://www.hkaaa.org.hk/doc/2509|Dr Patrick Mok], Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association (HKAAA)'s “Essential Guide to Effective Arts Management: Law, Marketing, Finances and Project Management”, will be held from June to August. The course will provide the professional training to support the development of local arts administrators and establish the arts administrators network in Hong Kong. It will include an introductory seminar of concepts and theories, which will be put in authentic practice using a mix of interactive workshops, exercises, active sharing among participants, real-life case studies and a field trip. With the support of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, we aim to nurture the arts administrators, independent producers, freelance arts practitioners and more throughout the course.

 

The scope covered in Essential Arts Management includes the essential topics and issues that arts administrators and artists have to tackle in the creative process, project planning and implementation of a cultural project. The four modules of “Essential Guide to Effective Arts Management” are as below:

Ms Ada Wong and MaD Team gave a series of unforgettable presentations on managing the cultural projects. Believing in the social potential of creativity, they shared their non-siloed approach to art and how they co-create cultural contents through collaborative processes. They shared how they strive to create positive impact of value-based and human-oriented project management to society, the art ecology and art administrators. Throughout the lecture, workshop and learn-in situ, participants experienced and learned how to manage the cultural projects effectively.

Module 2: Content and Digital Marketing for the Arts

 

Throughout the lessons, Mr Antony Yiu and Mr Takki Ma shared their view and knowledge of digital marketing and arts as well as content marketing. How the marketing and averments delivered through digital channels such as search engines, websites, social media, email, and mobile apps helps users to gather the information from target audiences as well as development the new audiences.

Module 3: Legal Issues and Law for the Arts


As an artist or art administrator, do you know that the copyright law states what can or cannot be done? Do you know the impact of contract law and labor law on artists and employees? The questions had addressed throughout the module. In the classes, Dr Kevin Pun and Mr Alex Fan led the discussion of relevant legal issues and provided professional legal knowledge and insights to the participants.

Module 4: Budgeting and Project Financing

In the arts industry, it may apply to the annual, project or production budget and finance. Arts Administrators need vision but also need to actualize the project. 21st-century Arts Administrators have to equip with management skill as well as financial planning. Conducted by Prof Lena Lee and Ms Connie Lam, this module taught the Arts Administrators that how to raise fund through sponsorship and crowdfunding as well as manage the expectations of the future sponsor, financing and budgeting.

「藝術管理指南:法律、市場推廣、財務及項目管理」(下稱「課程」)由香港藝術行政人員協會(下稱「本會」)主辦。參加者參與課程之同時,即代表同意本文所載之條款及細則。如有違反,本會有權取消其參加資格。

 

下列為參加者需特別注意事項:

(1) 對關於課程之一切事宜,本會有最終決定權,請留意本會網頁及Facebook最新公佈。
 

(2) 參加者請於開課前15分鐘到上課地點,並出示電郵確認通知信,以作核對身分。除已核實身分的參加者外,其他人仕不得進入課室。
 

(3) 本會保留一切更改原定課程之上課時間、內容及導師之權利。
 

(4) 退款安排:

-所有參加者成功登記後均不可退款,重覆報名者將不獲發還重覆報名的費用,活動名額不可轉讓。如缺席課堂,將當作自動放棄論,已繳交之學費將不會退還,亦不能轉讀其他課堂。

-凡購買「標準通行證」的參加者出席率達七成或以上,可獲頒發出席證書及35% 報名費退款。
 

(5) 惡劣天氣安排:(除實地考察外適用)

-如當日天文台8號颱風信號或以上懸掛時,正在進行的課堂將立即取消。若信號在課堂開始前的3小時內生效,課程將被取消。

-如當日天文台黑色暴雨警告信號時,正在進行的課程將繼續進行。如果信號在課堂開始前的3小時內生效,課堂將被取消。

-所有因颱風或暴雨警告訊號取消之課堂,課堂再不會改期,將不會獲得任何補償。

 

(6) 實地考察特別安排:

-交通安排:本會將會安排旅遊巴接送參加者往返川龍,集合地點及時間待定,將以電郵通知參加者。如有自行安排交通工具前往,請預早通知本會。

-服飾建議:參加者宜穿輕便的緊身運動服,並建議穿著運動鞋。

-惡劣天氣安排:如當日天文台懸掛三號或以上熱帶氣旋警告信號或發出黃色/紅色/黑色暴雨警告,實地考察將會取消。
-實地考察當日的室內課堂將按 (5) 惡劣天氣之安排。
 

(7) 課堂進行期間,請參加者請小心保管閣下的私人財物,如有任何損失,本會概不負責。
 

(8) 課堂進行期間,參加者不得擅自進行錄音及錄影。
 

(9) 參加者應已知悉本會於課堂其間有機會拍照或錄影作日後宣傳、推廣及教學用途。本會不會為參加者因出鏡而招致的任何直接或間接損失而負責。所有出現參加者肖像的照片及錄像的版權擁有人均為本會。
 

(10) 所有課程內容均為本會版權所有,不得轉載、網上分發或非法使用。本會將保留相關追究權利。

2018 “Essential Guide to Effective Arts Management: Law, Marketing, Finances and Project Management” (hereafter “Course”) is hosted by Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association (hereafter “HKAAA”).

 

By joining the Course, participants will be deemed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions contained hereinafter and HKAAA reserves the right to exclude any entry from the Course at any time if it has reason to believe that a participant has breached the rules.

 

 

The HKAAA reserves the right to make the final decision in the event of any dispute. The HKAAA reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions and other arrangements without prior notice. In case of any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Course, the decision of the HKAAA shall be final and conclusive.

 

 

HKAAA reserves the right to the final decision in all matters pertaining to the Course. Any changes for the event will be posted on HKAAA’s website and Facebook.

 

 

Quotas will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis.

 

 

No refund is allowed after registration is completed. Registration fee paid for duplicated entries will not be refunded and places are not transferable.
