EMA(AME) Programme Provides Learning Platform for Experienced Cultural Managers from the Region
Application for Admission to 2015 Intake is Now Open
The Executive Master of Arts in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship EMA(AME) programme now invites applications for admission to its 2015 cohort. The EMA programme is offered by The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) with International Partner Goldsmiths, University of London. This two-year part-time EMA programme is specially designed for in-service arts/cultural managers from Hong Kong and the region who have minimum five years of management experience.
Thanks to support from many cultural institutions in Hong Kong and the region, the first cohort of EMA participants comprises experienced cultural managers from five cities, namely Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Macau and Hong Kong. They serve in different roles in the arts/ cultural field. This unique mix and strong background of the participants provided a powerful learning platform and led to remarkable learning outcomes.
The EMA strives to enhance the international outlook of participants through partnership with Goldsmiths, bringing two courses related to “Cultural Entrepreneurship” to integrate non-profit arts and commercial cultural enterprises. Participants learn theories and latest international best practices from a teaching team comprising distinguished academics and senior practitioners from arts and cultural sectors in Hong Kong, Britain and Taiwan. Participants could choose a 5-day study trip to a spotlight city chosen in the Asia-Pacific region. To suit busy arts/cultural managers, participants are only required to attend two intensive 10-day teaching periods in February and August each year. In between the teaching modules, blended learning will be conducted through e-learning platforms.
