The definition of new and emerging technologies constantly shifts with time. New media arts appear when contemporary artists choose to use the latest media and technology as a medium of their work. New media introduces a new way to create and to present, re-defining the relationship between the artist, the artwork, and the viewer. The fast development of the internet also changes people’s conception of time and space. In this context, new media arts become ever-changing with complex modes of expression.

Are leaders born or made? Possibly some are natural, while the others are made. In the arts industry, it is impossible to find the perfect formula to operate an arts and cultural organization, especially since art can take so many different forms.

Since 2017, HKAAA has organised the “Meet the Arts Leaders” (MTAL) series. Over the past two years, we have invited numerous outstanding arts leaders as our speakers, including Ms Helen Ng, Mr K.B. Chan, and Mr Michael MacLeod.

This year, we are proud to invite a group of well-known speakers from diversed backgrounds to share their precious career experiences and their philosophies in arts administration. They will guide and inspire us to learn more on how art management is in Hong Kong, as well as the challenges of art managers in their particular art forms.
