Call for applications: Master of Arts in Curating and Art History (MACAH) Programme (Application deadline: 31 July)
The Department of Visual Studies at Lingnan University has recently launched a new programme—Master of Arts in Curating and Art History (MACAH)—to be commenced in September 2020.

MACAH combines two disciplines into one: museum curating and art history, with options to engage in practicum and study abroad programmes. Aside from required and elective courses, students can choose to curate a group exhibition or complete a research dissertation as capstone experience. An internship programme and an overseas summer school are arranged to enhance students’ international exposure, and their interaction with art historians, collectors and museum professionals. Students can also benefit from the insights and experiences of eminent scholars and experienced curators who are involved in our events.

The programme is suitable for those who wish to pursue advanced study in art history, and professional careers in museums, curatorial and other art-related industries. Through studying art theories and collections, curatorial practice, art projects, entrepreneurial initiatives, and professional training, MACAH offers students multiple perspectives to explore and engage in the development of art and cultural landscapes in Hong Kong, Asia and beyond.

Full programme details are available online at www.ln.edu.hk/visual/macah. Those who are interested in applying for the MACAH programme are invited to submit online application by 31 July 2020.

【22nd Hong Kong Dance Awards】— Online Live-streaming Presentation Ceremony on 18 July
In view of the continuing uncertainty and risk of infection caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 22nd Hong Kong Dance Awards Presentation Ceremony will be changed from a public event to a closed-door, invitation-only event with live-streaming on social media platforms for free viewing. To avoid a large gathering, only the shortlisted nominees and other related parties will be invited to attend in person.
This exciting new way of conducting the ceremony reflects the ‘new normal’ of life during the pandemic and the new journey on which the dance community, like the rest of the world, is embarking, and will make the event accessible to a much wider audience.
“This online Awards ceremony will show how we can embrace the future. It will enable us to honour outstanding achievements in Hong Kong dance and bring the dance community together in celebration after the tough times we’ve been through without any risk.”
— Chairperson of Hong Kong Dance Alliance | Shirley Loong
“We’re keeping the ceremony simple while not forgetting how art can heal tired hearts and bring us hope.”
— Artistic Director of 22nd Hong Kong Dance Awards | Dominic Wong
