Ms Sheryl Lee, Executive Director – Programming, Haw Par Music

Sheryl Lee is the Executive Director of Programming of Haw Par Music Foundation Limited (HPMF), a Non-profit Organization that is managing the historic Haw Par Mansion in Tai Hang, Hong Kong, into a Centre for cross-cultural exchange through music, heritage and the arts.

 

Sheryl is one of Greater China’s most respected and accomplished creatives with a rich and diverse record of achievements. She is a multifaceted Arts Administrator, Culture Curator, Entrepreneur, Music Educator and award-winning Pianist. Sheryl is an international acclaimed artist, well-known for her solo, orchestral and chamber music performances throughout Europe, Asia and North America. She made her solo recital debut at Carnegie Hall in New York and orchestral debut with the Utah Symphony. After moving to the United States at age 12, she studied piano at the Juilliard School and subsequently at Yale University and New York University. She previously served on the Adjunct Faculty of Piano at New York University, Artist Faculty at New York Youth Symphony’s Chamber Music Program and The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, New York. She was the artist-in-residence at Chinese University of Hong Kong for 2015-16.


In addition to her distinguished career as a Concert Pianist, Sheryl has held various senior positions within the music industry. A former record label Senior Executive, Sheryl was General Manager of Naxos Records, the world’s leading classical music label and distributor overseeing the Far East subsidiary. She has held the position of Artistic Development Manager at Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Marketing Director at Carl Fischer Music Publishing in New York. Her entrepreneurial spirit drove her to found Chiczando Concept & Culture Ltd., an arts and marketing consultancy in 2012. In New York, Sheryl co-founded “Music on MacDougal”, a creative hub for artistic discovery intended for emerging artists as a platform to create ground-breaking, interdisciplinary collaborations and new works. Sheryl currently sits on several committees and boards, most notably as Chairperson of Music Children Foundation, a charitable organization with a social mission that serves underprivileged families.
