【Limited Quota Left】“Meet the Arts Leaders” Series – Michael MacLeod reminisces informally on 45+ years in the classical music business
Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association launched “Meet the Arts Leaders” Series since 2017, inviting outstanding arts leaders from different arts forms to share their precious experience from career and their philosophy.

The coming guest speaker of “Meet the Arts Leaders” Series would be Mr Michael MacLeod, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. After 45 years in classical music business, Mr MacLeod will be retiring at the end of March 2019. This would be an informal gathering which Mr MacLeod would talk about his journey as a music professional, observation on changes of classical music and the art world.

【Highlight Recap】Class 3: Practical Tools of Touring (2) and Class 4: Promotion and Brand Building through Tours of "Essential Guide to Smart Touring"
Organized by Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association, Class 3: Practical Tools of Touring (2) and Class 4: Promotion and Brand Building through Tours of "Essential Guide to Smart Touring" were successfully held on 11 & 13 March 2019 (Mon & Wed).
 
Thank you for the support of our speakers, moderator, participants and volunteers!
 
In Class 3, Mr Marble Leung shared his secrets in drafting touring contracts, while Mr Roy Leung told us the common technical issues he faced in touring. Mr Daniel Yeung shared his down to earth touring experience as an independent curator.
 
In last Class of the course, Ms Margaret Yang shared how branding could be built via overseas touring. We are grateful to have Ms Stephanie Chang, who is from Beijing to show us some tips in touring in China. Last but not least, Ms Carrol Ho brought us different views in rethinking what is branding. 
 
"Essential Guide to Smart Touring" has come to an end, hope all the participants have gained some new insights from the course!

2019 Nomination of Representatives of Arts Interests for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council
The 2019 Nomination of Representatives of Arts Interests for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) (the Nomination Exercise) begins today (7 January). Eligible arts organisations and individual arts workers who wish to participate in the Nomination Exercise are invited to submit applications to the Nomination Agent (Note) on or before 29 March 2019.

Arts organisations and individual arts workers that meet the eligibility criteria in the application guidelines and wish to participate in the Nomination Exercise are required to submit an application according to the procedures set out in the application guidelines during the first phase of the Nomination Exercise (i.e. 7 January to 29 March 2019).

The first phase of the Nomination Exercise is critical as only arts organisations who have successfully registered in this phase will be able to register their eligible members / employees as voters in the second phase before they may take part in the subsequent phases of the 2019 Nomination Exercise including the nomination of candidates and voting. Arts organisations that had participated in the previous Nomination Exercises must register again by submitting an application to the Nomination Agent on or before 29 March 2019 in order to take part in the 2019 Nomination Exercise. Individual arts workers who have successfully registered in the first phase will become voters automatically to take part in the 2019 Nomination Exercise.

The HKADC will, after the close of Phase 1, inform arts organisations and individual arts workers the result of their applications through the Nomination Agent. The HKADC will then conduct voter registration by arts organisations in the next phase afterwards.

DanceAbility® Teacher Certification Course 2019
DanceAbility® Teacher Certification Programme is an intensive training designed for people to become inclusive dance teachers. With the reputation and experience of organizing the DanceAbility® Teacher Orientation course last year, Centre for Community Cultural Development is going to co-present the first DanceAbility Teacher Certification Course with DanceAbility® International this summer 2019. Participants who complete the course will obtain the DanceAbility® Teacher Certificate. With well-defined methods and techniques, participants will be able to facilitate dance, improvisation and movement, which also helps participants to dissolve barriers and connect people with mixed abilities by encouraging everyone to dance.
