SEE Series – ART CENTRAL 2019

Presented by: Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association
Acknowledgement: Art Central

About SEE Series
Balancing the elements of a project – time, money, scope and people – is one of the biggest challenges faced by arts administrators. It is difficult to standardise each project into a formula. SEE stands for Share, Explore and Experience. To put things in perspective, different art groups will be invited to share their difficulties encountered and the solutions to tackle the issues with participants. At the same time, participants can also share their thoughts and opinions towards the performance or exhibition. The two-way communication allows participants to further explore and experience the performance/ artwork through the activity, with a final goal to enhance audience appreciation.

About ART CENTRAL 2019
Art Central will return to Hong Kong's Central Harbourfront for its highly anticipated fifth edition from 27 – 31 March 2019.

The 2018 edition of Art Central had its highest ever attendance, welcoming 39,041 international collectors, curators and art enthusiasts. 【Highlight Recap】“Arts Administrator 101” Series – Xiqu Centre Guided Tour & Dialogue with Ms Lisa Tsang
Following an overwhelming public response, the “Arts Administrator 101” Series – Xiqu Centre Guided Tour & Dialogue with Ms Lisa Tsang was successfully held on 23 Feb 2019 (Sat). Supplemented with innovative multimedia elements, the approximately 1-hour guided tour helped participants to discover the fascinating facts about the culture and stories behind the art of xiqu. Also, by visiting the main facilities of Xiqu Centre, including the Atrium, Tea House Theatre and Grand Theatre, participants might know more about the architectural features and design concepts behind the world-class arts venue – Xiqu Centre.

It was a great honor for the Association to invite Ms Lisa Tsang, Head, Venue Operations (Performing Arts), West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, as our guest speaker. The conversation was very meaningful and inspiring. Ms Tsang shared the development policy of Xiqu Centre, explaining how the space design, venue-hiring, ticket pricing mechanism and customer service could meet the developmental needs of the art of xiqu, with an aim to promote cultural appreciation and to build more local and overseas audiences.
