SEE Series – ART CENTRAL 2019

Presented by: Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association
Acknowledgement: Art Central

About SEE Series
Balancing the elements of a project – time, money, scope and people – is one of the biggest challenges faced by arts administrators. It is difficult to standardise each project into a formula. SEE stands for Share, Explore and Experience. To put things in perspective, different art groups will be invited to share their difficulties encountered and the solutions to tackle the issues with participants. At the same time, participants can also share their thoughts and opinions towards the performance or exhibition. The two-way communication allows participants to further explore and experience the performance/ artwork through the activity, with a final goal to enhance audience appreciation.

About ART CENTRAL 2019
Art Central will return to Hong Kong's Central Harbourfront for its highly anticipated fifth edition from 27 – 31 March 2019.

The 2018 edition of Art Central had its highest ever attendance, welcoming 39,041 international collectors, curators and art enthusiasts. With over 100 leading international galleries, 75% of which hailed from the Asia Pacific, the Fair’s extensive gallery line-up included 30 new galleries making their Art Central debuts and showcased striking works from across the globe alongside a critically acclaimed programme, featuring performance, talks, large scale installations and new media.

She was a peasant girl who disguised as a man to join the army in place of her aged father. Over time, the story of Mulan rose in popularity as a folktale and widely taught in schools. “Coldefy, Architect of HKDI” – an exhibition narrating the design story of the Hong Kong Design Institute campus building, from 31st January to 13th March.
Should one adapt to or fight against context? Coldefy & Associates’ projects often do both at once, and none more so than the very first building of Thomas Coldefy and Isabel Van Haute: Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), designed when they were barely out of school. Covering the whole spectrum of the creative industries – from foundation studies to communication design and digital media, fashion and image design to architecture, interior and product design – this higher-education institution offers a whole range of degrees and higher diplomas to tomorrow’s creatives. Coinciding with the “Night of Ideas” event organised by the Consulate of France in Hong Kong and Macau and co-organised by HKDI, HKDI presents the “Coldefy, Architect of HKDI” exhibition on its campus from 31 January to 13 March 2019, to narrate the story of this emblematic building with visuals, sketches and models.
