HKAAA Annual General Meeting 2017 – 2018 will be held on 12 February 2019 (Tuesday) 18:00 – 19:00 at Conference Room, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (7/F, Sheung Wan Municipal Services Building, 345 Queen's Road Central, Sheung Wan). We cordially invite all of our members to join us for this occasion, to learn more about what we have been doing in the past year, and give us comments on how to do better in the future.

Register for ‘Intimate Exchanges: Kinship, Madness, and Obsession in the Scholar’s Garden’ (Free talk of ‘Noguchi for Danh Vo: Counterpoint’)
The layout of the M+ Pavilion exhibition space for our current exhibition ‘Noguchi for Danh Vo: Counterpoint’ is inspired by the traditional Chinese ink painting leitmotif of the scholar’s pavilion and garden. If you want to know more about the correlation of Chinese scholars and the concept of garden, join us on 9 Jan (Wed) for the free talk , to explore how the depictions of gardens were used to address emotions and viewpoints; the madness, obsession and unusual claims of kinship that transgress the traditional boundaries of the scholar’s world.

Hong Kong Dance Company – Ethnic Dance Workshop & Demonstration from the Silk Road
With billowing yellow sand beneath your feet and spectacular sea of clouds overhead, you glimpsed into the picturesque horizon of the Silk Road and caught sight of traditional dances. To enhance the audiences’ (suitable for aged 8 or above) understanding and interests in folk dance of the Western Lands, there will be two workshops together with demonstration of dance excerpts from Ode to the Silk Road.

City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC) presents 2019 Dancers’ Homework from 18 to 20 January 2019 at the Black Box Theatre of Kwai Tsing Theatre. Going from being on stage to behind the scenes, our four professional dancers, Ivan Chan, Lee Ka-ki, Shirley Lok and Terry Tsang are going to bring their creativity to live and inspire the audience with brand new dance works.
 
Staging all four original dance works over the night, the 2019 Dancers’ Homework comprises four dance excerpts in distinctive styles, which depict the four demeanors of our city.

Cultural Management: Critical Approaches
(Hong Kong) In view of the rapid professionalization and development of international arts ecology, the M.A. in Cultural Management (MACUM) programme of the Chinese University of Hong Kong will be organising a series of 12 Cultural Management-related lectures (over the course of 5 days) between November 2018 and January 2019, under the umbrella title of “Cultural Management: Critical Approaches”. Instead of focusing on the transfers of practical skills, the series of lectures, which is open to public and admission free, aims to generate critical discussions and reflections into the current challenges, practices and other critical issues in cultural management.
