【Register Now】Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association Recruitment Day 2018

Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association (HKAAA) strives to support the advancement of a flourishing arts scene by establishing a network connecting arts administrators in local and neighbour areas.

Following the huge success of our previous Recruitment Days, HKAAA is launching its sixth large-scale recruitment day at HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity on 6 October 2018 (Sat) to supply different levels of jobs in the arts field.
 
Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association Recruitment Day 2018 will serve as a free platform for participating arts organizations and job seekers, offering an opportunity for on-location job application and interview. HKAAA will also organize on-site career talks, so as to deepen job seekers' understanding towards the direction of the career path.

【Highlight Video】Essential Guide to Effective Arts Management: Law, Marketing, Finances and Project Management
Organized by Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association (HKAAA) and supported by Hong Kong Arts Development Council, “Essential Guide to Effective Arts Management: Law, Marketing, Finances and Project Management” was held from 23 June to 21 August 2018. Thank you for the support of our speakers, moderators, participants and volunteers throughout the course. 
 
The scope covered in Essential Arts Management includes the essential topics and issues that arts administrators and artists have to tackle in the creative process, project planning and implementation of a cultural project. We aim to nurture the arts administrators, independent producers, freelance arts practitioners and more throughout the course.

M+ Screenings: Southeast Asia Moving Image Mixtape
Between 18 and 23 September, M+ Screenings presents a selection of moving image works produced in and about Southeast Asia that identify key voices, influences and motivations in experimental filmmaking in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Featured works include three shorts by emerging Thai filmmaker Pathompon Mont Tesprateep, and three films selected by Tesprateep that illustrate his influences. Learn more and buy tickets.

A loving sketch of an old watchmaker who wants to recover the elapsed time after his child has grown away, it not only leads the audience to walk the elderly, memories and family life issues between the past and the present, it also brings back the treasurable moments of Hong Kong in 1980s.

Founded by Ata Wong Chun Tat in 2010 in Paris, a physical theatre which creates with Western methodology from Jacques Lecoq along with Eastern artistic traditions. Currently based in Hong Kong, and presented on different global stages.

【Arts Administration Scholarships】
Hong Kong Scholarship for National Arts Strategies – Executive Program in Arts & Culture Strategy 2019

Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) collaborates with the National Arts Strategies (NAS) for the first time to launch the “Hong Kong Scholarship for National Arts Strategies – Executive Program in Arts & Culture Strategy 2019”. The scholarship supports local arts administrators, especially those who have professional experience and aspire to advance their careers, to study the “Executive Program in Arts & Culture Strategy” (EPACS) designed by the NAS and the University of Pennsylvania in 2019.
 
The EPACS is an Ivy League credential that offers comprehensive training in arts management, covering strategy & positioning, non-profit fundraising, leading teams and management, introduction to social media, community and collaboration, finance etc. Commencing from December 2018 to September 2019, the EPACS consists of online courses and two in-person conferences.
 
The total value of the scholarship is HK$93,400 which covers the tuition fee (US$5,950) of the EPACS, and the subsistence allowance for attending the two conferences at approximately HK$47,000 in total for flight tickets, accommodation, transportation and meals.

1930年代小說《Street of Crocodiles》,經過美國作家莊拿芬‧福爾的剪裁刪削,變成《Tree of Codes》。「雕刻書」落在英國當代編舞家韋恩‧麥奎格手上,以不一樣的動態震盪而出,呈現嶄新的空間、層次和節奏;一瀉千里的高能量舞蹈風格,挑戰舞者身體極限。裝置藝術家奧拉弗‧艾里亞森看準了雕刻書文字的無重狀態,透過大量鏡像反射,化有限為無限,令舞者搞不清地板在哪兒,讓觀眾當下觀照自身。電音奇才Jamie xx在唱片製作的框框以外,搞搞新意思。三位當代藝術曠世奇才攜手合作,挑戰藝術!

與鋼琴出生入死
 
自古以來,生死課題美妙玄哲,引人浮想連翩。Music Lab推動古典音樂素來創意滿分,藝術總監、鋼琴家黃家正以死亡為題主持體驗式演奏會《1314》,啟迪大家思考人生。家正演奏細緻刻劃人們內心掙扎的李斯特自傳作品《B小調奏鳴曲》,年輕作曲家鄭靖楠則以生命為題譜寫樂曲,由家正演奏;更有兩位舞者加入,帶領參加者即興舞動身體呼應琴聲。音樂會後還有家正與觀眾從容談生死。

【MaD 2018/19 - Exchange+Incubation for Creative Industries Practitioners】
As a core component of our flagship MaD Festival 2018/19, the Exchange+Incubation for Creative Industries Practitioners awarded 6 groups of creative practitioners from different fields ranging from music, fashion, design to plastic upcycling. The awarded groups will undertake immersive studies at their chosen destination abroad and develop social innovative projects upon their return to Hong Kong. They will also share the insights and learning and experience at the Community Outreach and Assembly of the MaD Festival to be held between November 2018 and January 2019. Stay tuned!

外展社區藝術再思:為誰演出,為誰忙? ──「社區文化大使計劃」研究發佈暨討論會

「社區文化大使計劃」由康樂及文化事務署觀眾拓展辦事處策劃,資助藝團/藝術工作者到不同社區推廣多元類型的藝術項目,推行至今近二十載。這些年來的外展經驗如何?社區觀眾到底是誰?政府以藝術作為凝聚社區的工具是否可能?點人頭的成效指標對大使有甚麼影響?以上問題,身為藝術工作者、策劃人、研究者、藝術行政人員、藝評人或觀眾的你都會關心。
 
國際演藝評論家協會(香港分會)及香港教育劇場論壇聯合策劃是項研究,以「2016年社區文化大使計劃」戲劇類別的項目為焦點,採用歷史脈絡回顧分析和深度訪談兩種策略,從不同人士的見解,分析政策推行的現況,藉此識別現時計劃於政策策劃和實施方面可供改變和行動的餘地。
