Arty Hour @ HKAAA – Discover the Opportunities of Global Creative Collaboration with Yale-China Arts Fellowship
Let's Arty Hour!
Creative collaboration between arts practitioners from different parts of the world could stimulate innovative ideas and enrich each other’s cultural programmes. Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association (HKAAA) is honored to co-present with Yale-China Association, for a sharing session on how this fellowship could open doors for Hong Kong artists. This fellowship will bring emerging artists from Hong Kong to Yale University for a six-month residency from January through June in 2019 and provide a platform to collaborate with American artists and communities.

【Highlights】 “THEATRE”
In the theatre, while actors perform on stage, they are simultaneously doing their job duties. And while you enjoy the pleasure of watching, you are also part of the performance. Are we spectators or are we actually voyeurs? Is it fantasy or is it reality? Theatre is theatre, after all. Let’s redefine the use of space and explore our imagination. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and losing sight of purpose in life, you’ll find your relief here - just chill out, meditate and observe.

PIU³ | “Bleaching” life, re-making Hong Kong theatre
Artist Jaffa Lam for the first time turns a HK theatre into a laundromat that washes fatigued souls. What emerge between the sweet scents and pungent odors are the essence of life and reflections on societal issues.

MYOUSIC | A soundscape theatre experience
Created by Swiss artist Dimitri de Perrot and debuting in Hong Kong, MYOUSIC is in a mind-blowing sensory experience where sound and light form a surreal theatre-scape. It collapses the distance between the audience, shifts the familiar hierarchy and challenges the established ways of thinking.

Unknown: living in progress | 40-year time travel, memories and youthful dialogues
How does art influence your life? Under teachers’ mentorship, students from Acting and Playwriting, The HKAPA will take audiences on a journey through the HKAC. As this new generation of art practitioners engage in a “dialogue” with different spaces of the 40-year-old establishment, old and new memories shall cross paths and weave new meanings…
