Guided tour for HKAAA members/volunteers on "Immersive Theatre: Lingering in Time"

Highlight Event

New Paradise of Silent Island by MeimageDance (28&29 October 2017) presented by Kwang Hwa Information Culture Centre
Have you ever interact with dancers inside the theatre? When the border between audience and performers is blurred, you and dancers are gazing each other in the face. While dancers tied to the pole like higher order beings watching the crowd wandering and starts dancing on the ground, are you really just an audience?
Praised as “the master of creating surrealist imagination,” Hsiao-Mei Ho is the highly attention-attracting Taiwanese female choreographer, and her works are imbued with rich imagery and humanistic reflection. Ho founded her own dance company MeimageDance in 2010 with the philosophy of marking the distinctive style of each creation in dance and visual culture. In 2015 Ho received The 19th National Award for Arts in Dance in Taiwan. New Paradise of Silent Island is the classical reproduction from Ho’s own company premiere Woo! Barbie in 2010, which combines local Taiwanese cultural symbols with observations of social genders, and faithfully portrays the world in a time of change with ingenious surreal techniques.

New Paradise of Silent Island by MeimageDance, is a 2017 Taiwan Culture Festival programme supported by HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity.
