Just before Christmas in 1983, he was handed the key to the old, disused Dairy Farm Central Depot, and for the past 35 years he has been revitalising it into a vibrant contemporary arts space.
He is Benny Chia, the Founder of the Fringe Club.
In 2002, she pursued further studies in the United States, travelling from city to city to collect stories of overseas Chinese and the Kaiping Diaolou. She then returned to her hometown and spent eight years with her team applying to UNESCO for the addition of the Kaiping Diaolou and Villages to the World Heritage List. She succeeded.
For the past 10 years she has worked on the Cangdong Project, dedicating herself to preserving the tangible and intangible heritage of Cangdong village by cultivating heritage conservation and community empowerment.
She is Jinhua Tan.
On July 8, Jinhua Tan will conduct her first-ever Naked Dialogue with Benny Chia.
