Hong Kong Scholarship on Curatorial Attachment to Public Programmes at Tate Modern 2017
Open for Application
 
Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) collaborates with Tate Modern of the UK for the first time to launch the ‘Hong Kong Scholarship on Curatorial Attachment to Public Programmes at Tate Modern 2017’. The Programme provides curatorial attachment opportunity to local potential and experienced curators/ arts managers to further develop their professional skills and network. It is now open for application.
 
The Programme will offer one attachment place for about 22 weeks on a full-time basis from September 2017 to February 2018 in the Public Programme team of the Tate Modern. The selected candidate will mainly participate in the development, planning, delivery and evaluation of the public programmes of the Tate Exchange. A bursary of HK$168,000 will be provided to the successful candidate to cover accommodation, transportation, subsistence during the placement period and one economy class return flight ticket.

Unique leaning and networking platform for Experienced CULTURAL MANGERS- Join the EMA(AME) Class of 2017!
Executive Master of Arts in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship EMA(AME), The Education University of Education is now accepting applications for the 2017 cohort!
Bringing arts management, arts engagement/ education and cultural entrepreneurship together in the curriculum, the EMA(AME) connects experienced cultural managers from 7 cities since 2014. Courses are taught by a team of distinguished academics and senior practitioners from arts and cultural industries in Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, United Kingdom and USA. The EMA(AME) has also collaborated with Goldsmiths, University of London, with Goldsmith professors teaching three courses related to “creative entrepreneurship”.
 
High praise from Students and Managers
Alumni and students praised the blended learning mode which enabled them to complete the two-year part-time MA programme through four intensive teaching periods. The unique mix of experienced cultural managers from different cities provided a powerful learning and networking platform for all participants.

億派舞蹈治療基礎課程- 舞蹈治療的理論和實踐-即興 (Improvisation)

課程內容
 
本課程重點介紹即興 (Improvisation)作為舞蹈治療的一門學問,在一個治療性質的環境中,其背後治療動作的理論和實踐方法。課程也會涵蓋舞蹈治療的先驅們發展的各種不同的即興技術,以及這些技術隨後的發展和其他的方法。課程將包括理論建構的教學演示和動作的練習--自由式和結構式,使學生熟悉即興,並明白即興在治療過程中的使用。
 
本課程總共 4 天(30 小時)。考核評估合格的學員將頒發億派學院舞蹈治療培訓班結業證書並授予美國舞蹈治療協會(ADTA)認證的 2 個學分。此學分累計後將用於將來 ADTA 的舞蹈治療師職業認證。

1. 理解 Blanche Evan (舞蹈家/舞蹈治療先鋒)之舞蹈/動作治療的方法理論和實踐;
2. 理解舞蹈治療中有關即興(improvisation)的理論和實踐,並知道何時使用這些技術;
3. 理解即興的理論、心理動力學(psychodynamics) 和舞蹈/動作治療理論的關係。
 
課程流程
第一天:Blanche Evan 的介紹;即興的基本要素;潛意識身體的動作;心理投射技術(Projection)。
第二天:高階即興技巧;表面意象(Imagery)的介紹;即興指令的發展。
第三天:如何透過舞蹈治療提升自我意識及自我表達的能力;治療中的觀察運動方法(Witnessing)。
第四天:什麼是『真實動作』(authentic movement);通過『向內動作』引導學員從無意識到有意識的心理整合,從而促進個人成長。

導師:美國註冊舞蹈治療師 Dr. Thania Acarón
          英國亞伯丁大學博士,是一位督導級別註冊舞蹈動作治療師及註冊藝術治療師及註冊臨床督導師,也是美國舞蹈治療協會(ADTA)教育培訓委員會委員及表演家。Dr. Thania Acarón亦都是美國威爾士大學聖三一學院表演藝術系舞蹈、表演藝術、舞蹈教育和舞蹈動作心理治療專業講師並Orphaned Limbs Collective公司藝術總監。Thania擁有豐富的海外教學經驗,曾作為客座講師受邀到蘇格蘭、德國、芬蘭、希臘、阿根廷、拉脫維亞、巴西和波多黎各等地授課,她的教學風格熱情奔放,充滿活力和彈性但又不失成熟與厚重,尤其注重多文化及藝術教育與心理治療之間的緊密結合。

HKDI CIMT Grand Opening
HKDI Centre of Innovative Material and Technology (CIMT) is established as a comprehensive material archive and interactive learning platform to facilitate the exchange of material knowledge and associated applications amongst students, faculty, designers and manufacturers. The objective of CIMT is to connect the material industry and the world of design, stimulate new ideas, research and developments, cross-disciplinary projects, thereby inspiring the designs of tomorrow through the materials of today. Its collection ranges from the latest innovative, cross-industry materials from global suppliers, various manufacturing processes and inspired end products.

The Grand Opening of CIMT is scheduled on 7 April 2017. Throughout the period 15 March-30 April 2017, a series of events will be rolled out in celebration of the Grand Opening. These include themed exhibitions featuring the latest technology and material applications, seminars and workshops conducted by renowned artists, designers and media experts, open to participation by students, academics, industry and the general public.

Hong Kong Arts Festival Distinguished Cultural Leader Series: 40 Years Producing Theatre – In Conversation with two Tony Award-winning Theatre Greats
On St. Patrick’s Day, pioneers of Irish theatre Garry Hynes and Marie Mullen will spark off a conversation with Angela Mackay, Managing director-Asia Pacific of the Financial Times. Founders of Druid Theatre, Ireland’s first professional theatre company to be based outside Dublin, Hynes went on to become the first female director to win a Tony, while Mullen won a best actress Tony, both for The Beauty Queen of Leenane’s first run on Broadway. Hear their journey from Galway to Broadway and back again, and learn about their vision to make theatre for the local communities and international audiences.

“CINEMA 2.0: The Phantom Machine” attempts to possess certain cinematic qualities, resist the passage of time each in its own way like cinema by exhibiting four artworks from three overseas media art artists: Polymorf (Netherland), Phil Solomon (USA), Verena Friedrich (Germany).
 
Finalists’ works of the 22nd ifva Awards Media Art Category from Cihad Caner (Turkey), Irene Agrivina (Indonesia), Junya Kataoka (Japan), Lisa Park (South Korea), Cheuk Wing-nam (Hong Kong), Lau Ching-wa (Hong Kong), Chu Yiu-wai (Hong Kong), Hui Wai-keung (Hong Kong) and Chan Ho-choi Carla (Hong Kong) would be showcased at the same time. The result of Media Art Category will be announced at the opening ceremony.
 
Curator Guided Tour and Artist Sharing
Curator Ip Yuk-yiu will lead the guided tour and share with visitors his curatorial concepts. Verena Friedrich from Germany will also be present to talk about her works.

The 22nd ifva Festival

The 22nd ifva Festival will soon start in 9 March. Besides the finalist showcase of outstanding works from all five categories of ifva Awards, this year the festival will start with media art exhibition “CINEMA 2.0 –The Phantom Machine”, together with Media Art category finalists exhibition.

Besides, a series of free programmes will also be screened during the festival. Three ifva Awards Jury Recommendation Progrommes will be presented; meanwhile this year ifva collaborates with Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival and Singapore Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film to bring forth “Home and Mobility”, Taiwanese director Shen Ko-shang is also bringing his shorts to share with Hong Kong audience.
