i-Dance (HK) 2016 will take place between 17 November and 4 December, 2016. “Artists-in-focus” of the Festival features three renowned choreographers and exciting programmes of and about them. Inspired by model operas, Red–A Documentary Performance by Beijing choreographer WEN Hui is a reflection on how, fifty years from the Cultural Revolution, normalized aesthetic has marked our bodies and our memories. Internationally-acclaimed Thai choreographer Pichet KLUNCHUN will be presenting his solo “ ” and giving dance workshops, during which he will formulate the structured improvisation for Tam Kai (Hunting the Chicken). KLUNCHUN will also show us how traditional Thai and modern dance come together in A Touch of Contemporary Thai Dance. Extracts from the classical works since the 1990’s by Hong Kong’s maestro choreographer Helen LAI will be re-staged and performed by veteran dancers in Helen LAI in the post-90’s.
