Arts Management Seminar Series: Cultural Heritage at Your Fingertips in The Mobile-first World
“Arts Management Seminar Series: Cultural Heritage at Your Fingertips in The Mobile-first World” organized by Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association was successfully held on September 13. Ms Ksenia Duxfield-Karyakina, Head of Content Policy, Copyright and Cultural Impact, Policy Strategy & Operations, Google Asia-Pacific, introduced various cultural programmes of Google Cultural Institute, including their online virtual museum collaborating with more than 1,000 well-known museums, which encourage cultural preservation and exchange. Also, she mentioned different type of new technologies such as Virtual Reality and cardboards, that could engage broader audience, including the young generation. The talk was followed up by a Q&A session leaded by moderator Dr Issac Leung, Chairman of Videotage, and addressed many pressing issues of the arts industry in Hong Kong regarding the use of internet and technology.

Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2016 - Now Open for Nominations
Organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards is an annual flagship event in the local arts scene. It aims to give formal recognition to distinguished arts practitioners, groups and organisations that have made significant contributions to the arts development in Hong Kong. 
 
Artist of the Year, Award for Young Artist, Award for Arts Education, Award for Arts Promotion and Award for Arts Sponsorship are now open for nominations under the Awards 2016. Recipients of Artist of the Year and Award for Young Artist will receive a cash award of HK$50,000 and HK$25,000 respectively.
 
Please show your support by proposing nominees for different awards!

Hong Kong Arts Centre 【Jockey Club ifva Everywhere】ifva Carnival
Organised by Hong Kong Arts Centre and exclusively funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the first local outdoor moving images festival Jockey Club ifva Everywhere – ifva Carnival take place at the Event Space of Hong Kong Observation Wheel, Central, on 24th to 25th (Sat-Sun) September. Hundred units of local creative practitioners, including media artists, filmmakers, illustrators, singer-songwriters will join at the Carnival. Highlights include: 48-hour Film Challenge; drawing on 16mm films to make simple animation; creation of a 360 degree 3D short film by collective effort; Open-air Screening of The Posterist; alongside Marathon screenings of short films.
