【Final Call】Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association Recruitment Day 2016 - Call for Recruiters

Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association (HKAAA) strives to support the advancement of a flourishing arts scene by establishing a network connecting arts administrators in local and neighbor areas.

Following the huge success of our previous three rounds of Recruitment Day, HKAAA is launching its fourth large-scale recruitment day at Sheung Wan Civic Centre on 30 July 2016 (Saturday) to supply different levels of jobs in the arts field.

Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association Recruitment Day 2016 will serve as a free platform for the participating arts organizations and job seekers, offering an opportunity for on-location job application and interview. Experienced arts administration managers are invited to share their views and experience as well as the future professional opportunities on the Recruitment Day. 
 
Details of Recruitment Day: (For Participating Arts Organizations)
 
Date: 30 July 2016 (Sat)
Time: Venue set-up and preparation from 1:00pm, Recruitment Day and Talks from 2:00pm-6:00pm
Venue: Exhibition Hall, Sheung Wan Civic Centre (6/F, Sheung Wan Municipal Services Building, 345 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong)
 
No. of participating organizations: 15, with priority given to the following parties:
  • Local independent arts groups
  • Nine major arts groups
  • Hong Kong Arts Development Council funded groups
  • Recipients of “Springboard Grants” and “Project Grants” under Home Affairs Bureau’s Arts Capacity Development Funding Scheme
  • Funded groups of Leisure and Cultural Services Department’s Venue Partnership Scheme
Estimated no. of participants: 200-300
 
Deposit: 300 HKD (*Please submit together with completed application form to HKAAA’s office. Deposit will be reimbursed at the end of event. In the case of damages done to facilities at the venue by participating organizations, compensation will be deducted from the deposit. Deposit will not be refunded in the case of uninformed absence of participating organizations.)
 
HKAAA will provide commercial support and facilitate recruitment promotion through:
  • Onsite support on Recruitment Day (Photocopying, company name badge, vacancy information etc.)
  • Online promotion (HKAAA website, HKAAA Facebook, weekly e-newsletter, ADC’s network, social media and tertiary institutions)
  • Online and printed media platform
Reference interview questions and notes on recruitment will be provided by the HKAAA and sent to all participating organizations about a week before event date. To facilitate promotion of the Recruitment Day, please submit the completed application form on or before 30 June (Thur) for HKAAA’s further arrangement.

Exclusive guided tour for HKAAA members/volunteers-Backstage and Design Department Graduation Exhibition Guided Tour of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts was successfully held on last Saturday (25 June). Mr Indy Lee, Head of Performing Arts Education Centre, and his colleagues introduced many students’’ graduation works from Design Department and their concepts, also, had a visit to the backstage of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Hong Kong Arts Development Council - Sage Gateshead Internships 2016 Open for Application
 
Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) collaborates again with Sage Gateshead, renowned centre for music education, performance and conference in the UK to launch the ‘Sage Gateshead Internships 2016’. The Programme provides an internship opportunity to local experienced arts practitioners with potential to further develop their professional skills and network. It is now open for application.
 
The Programme will offer two 12-week internship places on a full-time basis from January to March 2017 in Sage Gateshead. The interns will gain in-depth, hands-on experience and knowledge in areas of venue management, marketing and audience development, artistic programming and management, festival programming, learning and participation, fund raising and development, cultural and arts policy. A bursary of £9,500 will be provided to each selected candidate as an allowance for a round trip air ticket, accommodation, transportation and subsistence during the placement period.
