Let's Explore!

Hong Kong People's Fringe Festival

Founded by Mr Chan Chu Hei and Ms Julia Mok in 2012, the Hong Kong People's Fringe Festival is held every year as an alternative arts experience that feature multidisciplinary arts performances and exhibitions that engage the community and explore possibilities of sustainable development in different spaces. The 4th Hong Kong People's Fringe Festival 2015 will take place from 21 November to 19 December 2015.

As the fringe festivals in different parts of the world, Hong Kong People's Fringe Festival is inspired by the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in promoting spontaneity and community engagement. All arts groups and individual artists are welcome to register as performers, exhibitors, venue organizers and volunteers at the festival. To ensure freedom and flexibility, the festival does not seek funding from the government or the private sector, and raise fund through crowdfunding or art events.

Hong Kong People's Fringe Festival is a platform that connects different artists and arts groups together. Local and overseas artists from different countries come together at the festival and exchange ideas during the month-long festival. The festival takes place in various spaces all over Hong Kong, including industrial buildings, eateries, studios and villages, with the aim of reinventing possibilities of spaces.

Hong Kong People's Fringe Festival comes to its 4th edition this year, which will be held from 21 November to 19 December 2015.

Deadline for inclusion of registered events in the festival booklet is 24 June 2015. Events registered thereafter will be posted onto the festival website.
