Legal Entity and Accounting Issues related to Small and Medium Sized Arts Groups (SMEs)

As an organization grows it will come to a stage when the founding members consider it necessary to form some sort of legal entity for operating its activities. There are various options for the formation of legal entity including those registered under Societies Ordinance and Company Ordinance.

Depending on the ultimate legal entity to be formed there will also be different statutory procedures to comply with. In this workshop, you will be informed of, and advised on the different forms of legal formation and the corresponding procedures.

In the same workshop, the speaker will cover the basic accounting procedures for the SMEs and the financial statements including the Income and Expenditure Statement and Balance Sheet. Practical knowledge on how to apply tax exemption and charity status would also be covered.

The workshop will be particularly relevant to those who want to gain practical knowledge in the basic accounting and legal aspect of running small to medium arts groups. Project grantees and one /two year grantees should find this workshop highly useful.
