Mr Antony Chan, Senior Charities Manager, The Hong Kong Jockey Club
Antony J Chan joined the The Hong Kong Jockey Club in 2015 and is currently Senior Charities Manager. Prior to joining The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Chan was Director, Arts Support, of Hong Kong Arts Development Council where he was primarily responsible for the management of an array of grant schemes for small- and medium-sized arts groups as well as individual artists based in Hong Kong, while he also led on some Council-initiated cultural exchange projects.
Chan has been involved in arts administration since 2004, where he embarked on a career of arts administration as Marketing Manager with Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. As Development Director of Hong Kong Arts Festival (2008-2010), Chan led the sponsorship and fundraising effort of the festival with a small and energetic team. Together, they exceeded the sponsorship target each year and successfully initiated a multi-year sponsorship programme with an international financial group. From 2010-2012, Chan was Head of Arts and Creative Industries of British Council in Hong Kong, where he developed sustainable creative partnerships and projects with a broad range of partners in Hong Kong and abroad.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Chan received his Bachelor of Commerce from University of Alberta in Canada. He also studied law in the U.K.
